SHOCK-ABSORBER 2T/4T

The Cobra® 2t/4t shock absorber improves the dynamic properties of Cobra® cables. With its help, branches swinging in opposite directions to the wind are gently slowed down and the damping shock is reduced by 20% – the so-called “karate effect” no longer occurs. The Cobra® 2t/4t shock absorber offers effective protection against branch breakage.

In addition, it allows the tree bracing with Cobra® cable to sway in gentle summer breezes, which promotes diameter growth and therefore the future break resistance of the tree. This low load swing width is approximately 20cm and is provided regardless of cable length – a clear advantage over dynamic systems that only work with a cable extension. The length release of the shock absorber begins under a load of 10 daN – 10 kg.
